Ommmm

My workshops at Omega have been amazing. It is so incredible to see each individual, and the community, tap into their innate creative power and make things from the heart. The Art Hut - which keeper of the AH Ben, would like to rename the Art Studio for a little more serious intent - has been filled with the most lovely energy this year. Not so serious as focused and unafraid to explore. This is such an exciting energy and container in which to work.
Before each class I smudge the space and set an intention. Last year I did a lot of drumming and chanting of the space, which I haven't really gotten into as much this year. I'm personally feeling a lot more loose and open. So much so that I've been able to dive into my own creations alongside everyone else. Usually I need more quiet and personal space in which to create. But this has opened up and I'm happy to let it go and tap into the communal spirit.
Here's what I've been teaching this year: Magic Medicine Rattles (an Omega fave!), Heart of Creation (a shamanic art experience), Threaded Needles (The Yoga of Fiber Arts: Knit, Sew, Crochet), Wildcrafting (hunting, gathering and art making), Make Your Mark (personal mark making and intention).
When I return from Omega I will begin to post these workshops here on the blog to inspire you, too!
May you find the Magic Medicine of each and every moment.

Good Read

Found a good read about housemen. According to the author, the house-officers are classified to few types: the "Don't know", "Don't know, don't care", "Don’t Know, Don’t Care, Bullshit Non-stop" and the "Know Something, Can’t Do Anything" type.Very interesting read indeed. And I really agree that HOs make up an extremely important portion in our healthcare system, and hence their qualities

ReTreating @ Omega

I'll be artist in residence at The Omega Institute for the next 3 weeks, teaching art workshops, and diving into the many staff offerings in holistic studies while I'm here.
Since I may not be posting regularly, I'd like to leave you with this offering. How can we treat our daily lives as spiritual retreats, doing less, accepting all as blessing, and challenge as teaching. As if everyone and everything we come in contact with is exactly what we need in the moment.
And so it is. And so it shall be.
Merry meet, and merry part and merry meet again.
May all your journeys be filled with Magic Medicine.
And love.

I Love Stephen Chow

It's difficult to describe how much I like stephen chow and his movies. Probably the following few points can help:
1. He's the only actor/director that i have FULL collection of the movies, and i even bought his books. Though he never really writes one, but those published collaboratively by his fans are good enough.
2. If someone tells me he doesn't like Stephen chow's movies, no i won't

Every Day Magic Medicine

Above, a few images of work I've done with found objects. My three faves: bone, feathers and scrap metal. I do a lot of figurative work like this and love arranging disparate items to create these god and goddess figures.
So to catch up on Monday's missing post, and cover Body Wisdom Wednesday, today I offer you this: gather a group of objects, either found, from your junk drawer, or your desk, and arrange them throughout the day into imaginary figures. Start with idea of a stick figure and then expand and explore whatever pops into your heart, hands and eyes. Go fantastical, don't be limited by the human container, and just go for joy.
As always I'd love to see what you come up with. Email me digital pics and I'll post here. Oh! And if you'd rather paint or draw, go for it, but try to add a 3-d object or two or three.
May your day be filled with Magic Medicine!

Crazy Busy Happy But Where'd The Weekend Go?

You know this feeling! So engaged the time flies. Even laundry is going faster than normal. Why can't that happen at work all week?
That's me up there, looking more serene from a calmer weekend. This is always a busy time of year for me. My birthday is approaching. My 3 week Omega Artist in Residency starts next week. My niece always visits from Isreal over the summer. And I imagine the bursting energy of Spring gets under my skin and has to get out.
This week it's the lilacs and the crab apple tree. Last week the magnolia was magnficent. Violets are popping up everywhere in the lawn. The spiders are back. Bees and wasps and ants are circling indoors and out.
I'm in the middle of sending out art submissions, pulling together a proposal for a catalog workshop for Omega, and a bonus cd of pics for my book. Oh, and I've got to run over to my antique store booth to pay rent and check on things.
This week's inspiration comes from my thrift shopping obsession. I sold my first pair of pants! Marc Jacobs - darling. I bought them for $15, sold them for $25. It would have been $30 but I hadn't gotten a chance to wash them.
So I'm going to be putting together an email list for Thriftzilla - my thrift store alter ego. And here's my promise: You don't need new clothes! You just need Thriftzilla. Personal shopping with a passion for price, people and the planet. Send me your size and I'll scoop up the best for you, your friends and mine! Recycle, repurpose, rejoice with style.
Hey, fashion is Magic Medicine too!
May your days be filled with Magic Medicine.

銀行家與漁夫的故事

Read this somewhere..a very meaningful story=)........

Neonatal Jaundice..no need phototherapy?

Neonatal jaundice is commonly seen due to a few reasons such as fall in hemoglobin concentration, shorter red cell lifespan and less efficient hepatic bilirubin metabolism in newborn. The fearful complication of jaundice, kernicterus, which occurs as a result of bilirubin neurotoxicity, can lead to catastrophic damage and death. Infants who survive may develop cerebral palsy, learning
